The remedy ALBICANSAN ® is made from the yeast Candida albicans. Candida albicans is a normal component of the intestinal flora. Under certain circumstances (especially milieu shifts) there is fast multiplication leading to candida overgrowth with the appearance of disease symptoms. Symptoms for which this medicine can be used –
- Mycoses
- secondary mycotically infected skin diseases
- of the urogenital tract: vaginitis (also in combination with adnexitis), urethritis
- of the gastrointestinal tract

- Stomatitis
- Gingivitis
- Perlèche
- Aphtae
This medicine is also used in situation of fungal overload of Gastro-intestinal Tract.
Some common symptoms which may be a sign of candida burden in GI tract –
- Fatigue and Tiredness
- Digestive Issues like increased frequency of constipation, diarrhoea, nausea, flatulence, bloating, cramps etc.
- Some studies suggest that overgrowth of candida in our GI tract may be associated with some diseases like Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
